The Fondation Tirelire mobilizes their efforts to put an end to food insecurity bu offering support to community organizations working in the food sector. The foundation encourages collective action and innovative solutions to give the most underpriveledged in our society power over hunger. Thus, the Fondation Tirelire distributes food and money every year in all regions of Québec.
Grant Allocation Program Criteria
To benefit from funds raised by the Tirelire Foundation, an organization must:
- be duely registered with the Canada Revenue Agency
- provide proof of sound management
- have an administrative council
- have clear rules for internal management and administration
- be able to provide a receipt for charitable contributions for the full sum of the gift
The Fondation Tirelire encourages projects that promote the autonomy of individuals and the prosperity of families, projects that have an educational component and that offer a place of mutual support that helps to break isolation.
Generally, the foundation does not support religious or political activities, rehabilitation centers for alcohol and drug addiction, individual projects, travel expenses, conferences, festivals, exhibits or any other event.
Procedure for Grant Application
First, you must reach your regional bureau. You can find the address and phone number you need HERE.
The request will be valid for one year and must be submitted before the 1st of July every year. You must file a new request every year to be eligible for a grant. Not receiving funding in a given year does not exclude your organization from receiving funding for a subsequent year.
All requests that are received are submitted to a process of examination by the awarding committee. The administrative council's final decision, following recommendations from the awarding committee will be communicated to the organization as soon as possible.
