Financing is essential to the Fondation Tirelire. Financing allows the foundation to accomplish its mission in the fight against food insecurity in Québec. The foundation organizes and participates in different financing activities in order to raise funds and increase their profile.
The Fondation Tirelire has a mechanism in place to collect donations from people who also seek to end food insecurity.

The right to food is a fundamental right. Unfortunately, every month, 279 000 people in Québec receive help from food-aid projects on a daily basis. Although it is often hidden, food insecurity is quite real. Whether the problem is access to food, or a lack of capacity in acquiring a sufficient quantity of healthy and nutritious food, hunger brings about a multitude of of related problems such as poor quality of life, loss of dignity, health problems, social exclusion, increased risk of failure at school, increased drop-out rate and unemployment. People in difficulty, inspite of themselves, become trapped in the vicious cycle of poverty. It is vital to lend these people a hand so that they can take control of their lives and the lives of their family members.
